Idea
01Scrolling is the time of day.
The last edition of The Ogden Standard from 11 November 1918 lies on a table. The light moves from night to evening, six moments of the day lead through the paper, and then all twelve pages can be turned by hand.
The newspaper is not a picture but an object: paper with fibres, a centre fold and a translucent reverse, which can be gripped at the edge and turned, on desktop and mobile alike. Every sound is made in the browser.
Idea
No retelling. The newspaper itself becomes the main character.

Process
02From town model to paper physics.
It started with a 3D model of the town of Ogden, followed by ten visual styles and a lab full of experiments.
What remained was the essence: the paper. The sheets are simulated, attached at the fold and follow the pointer. The town model lives on as shadows in the window light.
